Objective
In the context of gaining competitive advantage necessitated by macro and micro level changes in the operative business model, most of the organisations are considering various strategic options. In the journey of organisational transformation, the critical challenge lies in evolving a performing organisation so that the business deliverables can contribute to the operative efficiency of the organization. The need for institutionalising "Performance Management System" (PMS) as a strategic HR tool can hardly be ignored. In the background of such thinking, it was proposed to organise a one-day seminar to deliberate on the various theoretical and practical options of installing PMS in public sector banks.
The seminar deliberated on the following thematic areas:

• A review of traditional model of employee appraisals and its limitations in the context of changes in the workplace
• The new paradigm of Performance Management through goal setting and Balanced Score Card
• Behavioral analysis of the dynamics of organisational transformation - "Promise to Performance" : experiments in PMS
• Presentation of case : "Organisational Turnaround through PMS"
• Group work and developing an action plan
